Automotive recycling simply means the removal and reuse of automobile vehicles as spare parts. Once a vehicle has been used for its intended purpose and has become an economic drain on society, it should be disposed of properly. Automobiles are no longer used as a source of raw parts and this has led to the growth of a recycling industry for automobiles.
The automotive recycling industry begins by removing the interior and exterior salvage of cars that are no longer useful to salvage car buyers. Most often, these salvage yards sell the cars to salvage car buyers, who in turn will dismantle the vehicle, one piece at a time, and then restore them for resale. Recycling companies take the damaged vehicles and put new parts into them. They then sell them for an income. Obviously, the more parts that are used in the vehicle the more profitable it will be for the recycler.
With the advent of the internet, online retailers have sprung up that not only sell these kinds of used auto parts, but also offer shipping to anywhere in the United States. This has allowed Bassirpour said he has noticed an increase in interest in his business. He has since expanded his auto recycling business from coast-to-coast.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the country throws out more than thirty six million tons of potentially hazardous waste each year. Of that, fourteen million tons are classified as non recyclable material. These figures show the dire reality of how much waste is being produced in this country and its effect on the environment.
Many people are genuinely concerned about the state of our economy today, so it is not surprising that they would be hesitant about looking into automotive recycling for their used automobile parts. This isn’t a new trend, however. Car owners have been selling used parts on the used car marketplace for decades. Today, many of them are doing the same thing with used auto parts for trucks , vans, boats RVs, motorcycles, jet skis, and snowmobiles. It just might be time for the next logical step, and that is to be green and invest in recycled parts to power their vehicles.
Over twenty billion pounds worth of scrap metal is created every year by the recycling industry, with a large portion being aluminum. Bassirpour said that the majority of the scrap metal is aluminum and can be used to make panels for newer vehicles instead of buying new ones. He estimates that the industry could produce ten to twenty-five billion pounds of aluminum over the next decade. This would not only help the aluminum industry, but it would also do a lot of good for the environment. We would put our climate and environment at risk if we discarded this metal in landfills. Bassirpour and other experts believe that investing in aluminum is a wise move.
It appears that Americans are beginning to recognize the benefits of being “green”. Particularly after seeing how fast-paced the world’s economy is becoming. Many people are beginning to look for ways to save money and this includes turning to auto recycling. Whether they want to buy recycled vehicles or donate their old junk to metal recyclers, recycling has never been easier.
If you decide to buy recycled vehicles or donate your old junk, saving the environment is a priority that everyone should strive for. Recycling is not only for car owners. There are numerous benefits to recycling both cars and the planet as well. Recycling is not just the best choice however, it is the best thing to do. By using recycled parts for new vehicles, you are doing your part to keep our ecosystem from deteriorating. The longer we can do this the better for ourselves and the next generation.
