How To Pick Good Pharmacy Technician Schools

I began this year with new hopes, restructured dreams and aspirations. After a failed attempt at becoming a psychologist at a prestigious institution, I decided to try another route: becoming a pharmacy technician through an accredited school. Since I am recently married, and my husband just joined the Air Force, I decided that becoming a pharmacy technician was the most reasonable ‘career’ that I would pursue. It would leave me time to spend with my husband, as well as raise children….since at the moment, we are trying to conceive. I decided that I didn’t want a stressful job that stole me away from my family. I wanted to become a pharmacy technician.

When taking the test, there is a tutorial at the beginning. SKIP IT. If you skip the test you will give yourself 5 more, extra minutes for your test. I was given 120 minutes for the test, 5 minutes for the tutorial, and 5 minutes for the survey. In all I was given 130 minutes for the test because I skipped the tutorial and I didn’t have enough time to take the survey.

No boss pharmacy technician career wants to spend months or even weeks of precious time training new employees. They require workers that can begin to make them revenue from day one. Many students are able to acquire the hands-on experience they require through internships. An internship can teach students in a few weeks what college can’t in 4 years.

The training cost will vary depending on the program or school. However, you can reasonably expect prices to be anywhere from $400 to $3,000. This variance in cost can depend on whether online classes or in classroom classes options are chosen and also the quality of the program itself.

The check-in was surprisingly fast. As soon as I put away my wallet and car keys, I pulled the key out of the locker and someone called my name to go back into the testing area. The first stop was the proctor area, which is a glass enclosed room with monitors and a central view of all of the testing cubicles. I was given a calculator, some dry erase paper, pens and disposable ear-plugs. The proctor told me clearly to not erase any scratch paper work. She asked if I was ready, then took me to a testing station.

The job of a pharmacy technician school is very important. Patients have to be given advice on the administering of various drugs. If they are taking two or more drugs together, then the duties increases manifold. He has to then counsel them about the possible interaction or reactions between the various drugs.

It is not wise to try and win every battle that comes your way. With each challenge, ask yourself will engaging in it make the company more successfully. Every challenge should be relative to some company goal. Reason what is truly at stake and make the proper decision.

Are there other things to discuss about being a pharmacy technician? Absolutely. And I’ll touch on all those in the future. But for right now this should serve as a pretty good overview.
