Invented in 1963, the Company was founded by Dr. Alvin Roth. Dr. Roth had been a practicing dentist prior to discovering that his passion for developing dental plastic products led to the development of this unique patent-pending technology that is used in the manufacturing of all of Quadrant’s advanced engineering plastic components. Among Roth’s many innovations: His discovery of an easy way to increase the length of the material used in our components and was the first to use an actual additive in nylon; he was the one responsible for the creation of the nylon powder composition and manufacturing process; and was the sole designer of the nylon sandwich. Nylon Stock Shapes – Roth invented the shape of the nylon stock. With the aid of nitrogen-filled injection molding technology, he discovered that his nylon stock shapes were virtually impossible to break. Roth initially created these stock shapes to save space. Today, the stock designs of our most sought-after products, including bumpers and knobs, as well as slides, are available in shape that is durable and virtually indestructible. Nylon stock shapes can be created on a large scale using regular CNC machines. They are also very easy to work with. The stock shapes, along with numerous other unique nylon plastic parts, are responsible in making our equipment robust and reliable.
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), and STP (styrene), Composites – These two groundbreaking engineering plastic products were invented by Roth. They laid the way for different types of polymer composites. They are now very useful for high-tech accessories industrial batteries, as well as many other applications. Together, PVC and STP composites offer lightweight, durable, and strong industrial parts that allow you to make a broad range of products.
UV Sensitive Materials – The next global leader in high-performance engineering plastics, Ultraviolet Silicone, was created by Roth. It is a revolutionary material that has revolutionized the supply chains of the world due to its superior resistance to UV light, especially ultraviolet B radiations. This makes Ultraviolet Silicone ideal for sun-damaged outdoor signs and bumpers, and also guarantees that it can be utilized as thermal insulating material, as well as for lubricants used in engine components. The product’s versatility is now extensively used in a broad variety of applications, from air bags, solar signs and high-performance engineering plastics.
Flexible Plastic Materials – Another one of the few engineering plastics that have been a leading player in the global supply chain. This product is able to stand out from the rest by offering a greater variety in use across different industries. Its durability and flexibility make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. From its application in bumpers and shock absorbing liner, to mechanical parts and high-performance engineering plastics, UHP and ULP materials are now being used in a wide range of applications.
Colloidal Polymer – Another rising market leader within the supply chain of engineering plastics. Colloidal Polymer was first introduced by Roth in 1998. The Colloidal Polymer has a natural look and is strong, flexible, and safe. It exhibits an extended cure time and comes in a range of particles, including PMMA, and polyimide. The material is also impervious to UV light and has a high resistance to wear and tear. This material can be used in a variety of applications, including in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, detergents, and food items.
Nylon Fiber – Nylon Fiber is the fourth most popular fiber used in the world. It offers durability and strength and low maintenance. Nylon Fiber has a high modulus for compressive and tensile strength however, it has low tensile and compressive strengths. It is utilized in a variety of applications including aerospace, industrial, automotive, household, and household. The main benefit of Nylon Fiber is that it has better creep resistance, translating into a longer endurance. It has excellent thermal and chemical properties, which make it a preferred choice for various industries. Nylon is the fastest-growing fiber, but it has the weakest compression strength.
